ICPD makes arrest made following April 4 Hawk Alert
As a result of an investigation into the report of a person carrying a knife near the intersection of North Dubuque and Jefferson streets on April 4, 2024, Iowa City Police have made on arrest.
- Jonathan Kim, 47, faces one count of Assault while Displaying a Dangerous Weapon
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. No other information is available at this time.
Update from the Iowa City Police Department
At 9:31 a.m. Thursday, April 4, Iowa City and University of Iowa Police responded to the area of North Dubuque and Jefferson streets for a report of a man carrying a knife. No injuries were reported and no threats were made.
Police searched the area, but the suspect had fled the scene. At this time, there is no known threat associated with this incident. Community members are encouraged to contact local law enforcement should they see something that appears dangerous or out of place.
