ICPD makes arrests following Dec. 25, 2023, shots fired investigation
As a result of an investigation into the shots fired on Dec. 25, 2023, Iowa City Police have made multiple arrests.
- Bhupi Singh, 21, of Coralville, faces one count of Reckless Use of a Firearm and one count of Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime.
- Gupreet Singh, 22, of Iowa City, faces one count of Reckless Use of a Firearm and one count of Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime.
- Satnam Singh, 27, of Iowa City, faces one count of Reckless Use of a Firearm and one count of Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. No other information is available at this time.
Iowa City Police Respond to Shots Fired
At 2:08 a.m., Monday, Dec. 25, 2023, the Johnson County Joint Emergency Communication Center received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the alley of the 200 Block of South Van Buren Street. Dispatchers heard multiple shots fired while taking the calls.
Responding Iowa City Police officers discovered evidence of shots fired in the area of where the incident was reported. At this time, no injuries have been reported.
Iowa City Police continue to investigate this incident. No further information is available at this time.
